One of the best parts of being involved with IgniteU is the opportunity to sit down for one-on-one conversations with other members. These meetings help us understand each other’s businesses so we can confidently refer people to someone we trust. Recently, I had the chance to spend some time getting to know Jacob Weidenbach, who works in auto sales at Titus‑Will Ford.
Jake has been in the car business for many years. Over that time, he has worked both as a salesperson and as a sales manager. Most recently he stepped away from management and returned to sales. His reason was simple and relatable: the 60–70 hour work weeks that come with management were taking too much time away from the rest of life. By going back to sales, he can focus on what he truly enjoys while maintaining a healthier balance.
What stood out to me right away is that Jake is not your typical pushy car salesperson. His approach is refreshingly different. Instead of rushing someone onto a test drive, he believes in first taking the time to understand the person sitting across from him. He wants to know their needs, lifestyle, and priorities before recommending a vehicle.
And when it comes to knowledge, Jake brings a lot to the table. He truly understands vehicles, from the details of different models to the mechanics of engines and performance. If you enjoy learning about what’s under the hood, he can walk you through the ins and outs in a way that actually makes sense.
Another advantage Jake brings is his experience in management and finance. Because he has worked on that side of the business, he has a strong sense of what buyers can realistically afford. That means he isn’t interested in wasting anyone’s time by showing vehicles outside of their budget. Instead, he focuses on helping people find the right vehicle that fits both their needs and their financial situation.
During our conversation, we spent about an hour talking about both business and life. By the end of our time together, I walked away with a strong sense that Jake is a man of integrity who genuinely wants to help people make good decisions.
If you are in the market for a vehicle or know someone who is, I encourage you to connect with Jacob and get to know him the way I did. One of the strengths of IgniteU is building relationships with people we can trust, and Jake is definitely someone worth having in your network.
Better yet, schedule your own one-on-one with him and see for yourself why he has built such a strong reputation in the car business.
