Yelp 101 — Fast tips to get started with Yelp for your Business

If you’re not already on Yelp, or you’re not sure, simply search for your company name using the search box at the top of the website. If your business is not listed, visit the Yelp Business Center and create an account (it’s free.)

Yelp allows businesses to upload photos, set a price range, share information about parking, payment types, business hours, location, business history, a meet the owner section and so on.

Why should I care about Yelp?

These days 90% of consumers trust “peer recommendations” so being proactive and establishing a good presence on Yelp (and Facebook, YouTube, etc.) is extremely important.

And Yelp is Huge.  Like it or not you have to play the game, get your business on Yelp, other social media and local search sites. Just a few good reviews can shoot you to the top of Google and separate you from your competition. Be active and take advantage of Yelp because the ROI can be amazing.

If you don’t have the time or manpower to get your business setup and to maintain Yelp and other essential Social Media and Local Search sites then you can always hire a social media marketing company like Pixel Dust to do it for you. Luckily it’s not that expensive (at least not with us) and we offer customizable packages that fit your business needs.

Connecting online through Yelp creates value for your customers. Never miss an opportunity to engage with your loyal (and potentially new) fans.

Good luck and Happy Yelping!
